Neighbourhood Community Officers (NCOs) work with residents and local organizations to address safety concerns and build long-term community solutions. Assigned to one area for four years, they serve as trusted liaisons between the Toronto Police and the neighbourhood.
Launched in 2013 and active in 35 neighbourhoods, the program was refined through community input and Humber College research.
The City of Toronto acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
