On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, parents, caregivers, and community members gathered at The Bentway Studio for a Community Safety Town Hall & Info Session, hosted in partnership with local school parent communities and community partners.
The evening brought together families from Jean Lumb Public School and Bishop Macdonell Catholic Elementary School for an open and constructive discussion focused on neighbourhood safety and wellbeing.
The session featured a panel discussion and presentations with Ausma Malik, along with Chris Glover, City staff, and community partners. Together, they shared updates, resources, and insights on key local priorities.

Key topics discussed included:
- Traffic safety and road conditions
- Parks and recreation spaces
- Dog off-leash areas
- Access to neighbourhood resources and services
- Opportunities for parents and caregivers to share feedback and concerns
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, connect directly with City representatives and service providers, and learn more about available supports in the community. Free child care and snacks were provided, helping make the event accessible to families.
Thank you to everyone who attended, shared their perspectives, and contributed to a thoughtful and collaborative conversation. Events like this help strengthen communication between residents, community organizations, and local partners as we work together to support safer, more connected neighbourhoods.
